A Joyful Family Session at Hawthorne Park - Laza Family

Last month, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful family who won their session through a silent auction supporting CASY. Drew and Stephanie bid on the session as a way to give back—and also to finally update their family photos. I’m so glad they did, because their session ended up being such a joy from start to finish.

Their daughter, Jenelle, kept us all smiling. She was full of personality—spunky, confident, and very sure of exactly what she wanted to do (and what she absolutely did not want to do!). Her big energy and expressive spirit added so much life to every moment.

One of my favorite parts of this session was just how naturally the family interacted with each other. Drew and Stephanie made everything so easy. They didn’t overthink or force anything; they simply played, laughed, and enjoyed the time together while I quietly captured their connection. The result is a gallery full of genuine moments—snuggles, giggles, tiny discoveries, and that unmistakable bond that only a family shares.

Hawthorne Park was the perfect backdrop, with its soft greens and beautiful light. It gave us room to explore, play, and let Jenelle’s personality shine.
