Ben's Harry Potter Imagination Session - Hillary Pair Photography

Hello there!

Welcome back to my blog! I am so excited to tell you about an awesome Imagination Session with a cool kid named Ben. If you are a Harry Potter fan, this is the post for you! Just wait until you see the Imagination Portrait.

Ben's mom entered Ben into a giveaway for an Imagination Session and they won!

When we met for the first time he already had an idea of what he wanted to do. He was very excited for the session and the Imagination Portrait. I found out he is growing his hair out to donate to Locks of Love. How cool is that? Although there is an ulterior motive to that. Ben's family has a deal that if they donate to Locks of Love they can do whatever they want to their hair. I can't wait to see what Ben does to his hair!

Ben is a big fan of Harry Potter and he wanted a Harry Potter session of course! I had to do some Harry Potter movie watching to understand what he was talking about. However, it put me to sleep every time I put in on.

Ben rocked the Harry Potter portraits! He was one awesome Harry Potter!

Ben came prepared. He had his wand, a shirt, tie and his Harry Potter robe. He was suited and ready to go. As you can tell he was not camera shy.

We got some pretty awesome portraits of Ben. He is one cool kid!

Ben was a fantastic model. The Imagination Portrait had it's challenges. One reason being, it was so hard to find Harry Potter backgrounds. I have to find images I can buy and use that I can get the rights to use. A lot of Harry Potter backgrounds I found were not available to use or I would be going against copyright laws. I did finally found some great things to use for Ben's Imagination Portrait.

The first thing I did during our session was capture the portraits I used to create an Imagination Portrait of Ben riding a firebolt. We had to improvise to get the portrait. I had to take two images and combine them to make it work. One image was of his legs and the other image was of the top part of his body.

From the two images above, lots of manipulating, tweaking, adding in a background and a few other Harry Potter things, I created this Imagination Portrait for Ben.

How cool does he look! When he finally got to see the Imagination Portrait, he laughed at my owl. I think he loved the portrait though.
